Killer Fact!

Skype listens on port 80 by default. Naturally, this breaks Apache. Am I crazy or is that an odd choice of port number for something that's not an HTTP server?

Word on the street is it does that to try to get past firewalls that might be lenient on :80 but block other ports. Apparently it's a config option you can turn off.

Yep, found it. Turns out it does port 443, too, for the same reason.
