Nth-order apathy

Real dialog from a real design meeting! This is where software comes from, boys and girls:

ME: OK, I don't give a shit, and I don't know if we even give a shit whether we give a shit or not. At this point.

S.: At this point, yes.

Well, I know someone who'd give an intense shit about this multi-level, manifold, meta-reflexive giving of a shit about giving a shit about shit in general. Actually, I know quite a few of these people. They're my fellow grad students in humanities -- English, Lit Crit, tha' kind o' shit (speaking of shit). They'd be delighted, indeed fascinated by the vertiginous contemplation of shit that's abysmal on so many planes -- at least at this stage, as you say. Le stage du mirroir, la fantasme de la merde morcelée, l'(em)merdement, la mise en merde: a torrent of shitty associations to give every single one of them a Lacanian boner.

And no, I don't study this... umm... shit. I only drink with people who do.
Who gives a shit?
So I shouldn't update my blogspot thingy?
Actually, it's fine. The differences from the old one are minor and cosmetic, from what I've seen so far. I was just peeved at being required to upgrade. I am not a number! I am a free man! Etc.
